Electroencephalography
Muscles receive electrical signals from nerves which enable them to contract. Electromyography measures this electrical activity. A needle is inserted by the doctor through the skin directly into the muscle and to record the electrical signals.
This test is used to evaluate symptoms such as numbness, tingling, muscle weakness, and muscle cramps. It helps to distinguish between muscle weakness caused by nerve damage and weakness caused by other neurological disorders.
